My rural art photos are, in essence, documentary fine art photography, because they capture a rural landscape that is rapidly
vanishing. This rural art captures images of architecture, landscapes and a lifestyle that are rapidly vanishing. A large part of this
rural art collection of the Old South landscape is the old buildings, old stores, old barns, and old houses and homesteads that are
disappearing--not to urbanization, but to forces of nature: entropy and hurricanes. These are the old buildings that will never be the
'cause' championed by a historical preservation society. One of my missions in my rural art is to capture these treasures--many
in the state of Alabama, where I live--before they are gone, through the only method available for their preservation...documentary
photography. My rural art is mostly black and white photography, but some is color photography. I hope to continue expanding my
documentary photography to include more of this type rural art: architecture, old barns, old houses, old stores and portraits of
folks whose roots are Old South by many, many generations. Click on the 'collections' link and then 'old buildings' to find links to
old stores, homesteads, old houses and old stores. Also under 'collections', you will find 'the last plowboy' (a collection of
documentary portraits of an 87 year old Alabama farmer and his plow horse). Rural documentary images add a homey touch as
interior decorating photography.
Black and white photography enthusiasts will find an entire page just for them. Go to 'just black and white' to peruse black and
white photography that include: landscape, floral, botanical, portrait, beach, contemporary isolated object studies, nature, rural
Old South art. Also, black and white photography can be found from the 'collections' link, including pelicans, old buildings, old
stores, and old houses. Many feel that black and white photography makes the best fine art photography as well as the best
interior decorating photography.
My contemporary photography collection can be found by following the 'abstract and contemporary link'. My contemporary works
range from architectural to isolated object studies to portraits.
Some of my newest work is my recently expanded offerings of beach art. Whether you are looking for beach art for your condo,
beach home, or office, you will surely find something to fit your needs in my beach art photography section.
Traditional art lovers will find plenty of traditional fine art photography to choose from: botanical, architectural, landscape art,
nature photography, portrait, documentary, Old South art, rural art, black and white photography, floral. Take the 'still lifes, isolated
objects and flowers' link to find traditional photographs. Lots to choose from here for your home decor or office decor.
If abstract art is your thing, go to 'galleries' and then 'abstract and contemporary' to find an entire page (soon two pages of
abstract art) of abstract art. Also, check out the photo art tiles for the abstract art piece 'graphic gourds".
In addition to the Old South art, black and white phohtography, and rural landscape art, you will find color landscape art. Most of
my landscape art on this site, to date, is centered around water, including several images in my beach art collection. Look for an
expansion of landscape art, especially with photographs focusing on trees and woods. Landscapes make excellent choices for
interior decorating photography.
